This is the most basic you can get when making a spring snare for animal trapping. It is fast, efficient and requires nothing more then some cordage and sticks to make. This snare can be made without the use of a knife which is a plus. Depending on the cordage used you can trap just about anything you can track.
This can also be modified to work as a spring pole fishing device as well. Instead of a slip loop you would simply add a hook and bait to the end of the cordage and drop into the water. When the fish bites the spring will release and give the jerk needed to set the hook.
This spring snare can be used year round; however, many places require a trapping permit to do so. Without a permit you should not do this unless you are in a life or death situation.
