The Gwinn Area Community School (GACS) team for the High School Bowl performed exceptionally well this year. Here are a few details about this year’s team and their performance…

This is what their coach, Dan Turecky, had to say about the season…
Here’s a quick summary of the recent High School Bowl Small School Nationals Tournament over the weekend in Chicago on April 26-27th. Gwinn went into the Nationals as an undefeated team 32-0, winning all four tournaments in a row to become the State of Michigan Class C/D State Champions. Gwinn was then invited to participate in the NAQT Small School National Tournament in Chicago.

In Chicago, Gwinn went 9-4 in this tournament and ended with a total overall win-loss record of 41-4 to end a great season. The only losses suffered by Gwinn came in the Big Nationals Tournament. The Final Tournament Results were that we placed 13th place in entire Small Schools Division Tournament, we placed 4th in Small-Small Division of the tournament, my top scoring player (Thomas Jenkins) was 4th highest scoring in Nationals Small Schools Division. In summary, Gwinn did great in their “Quest to Be Best” themed goal from the start of their year. Gwinn Coach Dan Turecky noted “Not too bad for a small town in the UP, eh?”
