For the last 5 years I have selected between 5 to 15 families each year in need of help with some Holiday cheer. My organization (Sawyer Community Enrichment) collects donations year round for all sorts of programs and events. For the Holidays my friends and I build a Holiday in a box gift for each family. It contains everything from presents for each member of the family, children and adult. Plus stockings filled with candy and trinkets. We also provide a holiday dinner, either one they make themselves or a gift to UP North Lodge holiday dinner.

This year we had just enough money for 9 families and a holiday party with Santa and friends. Here are a bunch of pictures from delivering the family gifts and the party…

We have one more thing to do before we can rest for the Holidays. Tomorrow we are delivering 85 gift bags to seniors in our neighborhood who may be shut ins or alone. Just to let them know they’re not alone or forgotten.
