Made it to my revised starting point. We drove the first couple hundred miles of my route to make sure it was doable. Turns out the bike route through the mountains is quite sketchy and really not safe for a trike. There are no bike lanes and cars are expected to yeild to bikes. The speed limit is 75mph and the road is full of 90* switch backs. By the time a car sees you it’s to late. Plus we passed 4 ambulances on the drive through. So I’m skipping that and starting on the Idaho side. Better safe than sorry.

Tonight I’m staying in this brand new fancy expensive hotel lodge. The owner is a Veitnam Veteran and didn’t charge for me. He owns several businesses around town. Here are a few pictures of the hotel…






Tomorrow my peddling begins. Hopefully I make it to Virginia with few if any issues.
