This is the 5th year I have thrown my Easter Egg-stravaganza event. It keeps growing as well.

The early birds

I spent just over a month collecting donations and planning everything out. We had…

24 volunteers, 352 people attend, about 1500 eggs, tons of door prizes, everyone got an Easter basket, raised just over $2000 in cash and/or goods to provide the event, collected $296 in donations during the event which will go towards future K.I. Sawyer community events and/or projects.

Started off setting up toy tables, food, Easter baskets, candy, door prizes, and prepping the building for the event.

Missy Derby came and set up her book mobile and gave away free books to those who wanted them. Now parents have no excuse to read to their kiddos. Shannon Greathouse donated most of the food and a bunch of toys as well. She also gave away free winter coats.

The Easter bunny and her friendly moose made an appearance. Kids got to get pictures and hang time with them while building their own baskets.

Once I opened the doors kids rushed in and the fun began. No problems. Everything went smoothly. I was worried there wouldn’t be enough but my expert mom volunteers handled it like pros.

After the kids built their own baskets, we held the drawings. Dozens of toys like electric scooters, drones, RC cars, dolls, collectibles, and more were given away.

Then the egg hunters stormed the outside in search of eggs. Some of which contained money.

Kids 3 and younger had their own indoor egg hunt as well.

Special thanks to everyone who donated to this event. And big thanks to the K.I. Sawyer Air Museum for letting me use the museum for the event.
