My biggest Halloween event in the last 6 years.

In my community, I rehabbed an old fitness trail that went through the woods for 1.5 miles round trip. It has a warm up/cool down entry trail and 18 fitness stations. For the last 6 years I have put on a Haunted Halloween Trail event that utilized it.

The trail starts at the top of the hill on Ryan Lipinski Drive. The road that the county and township named after me as a gift for my dedication to our community.

A side by side pulling a trailer with hay bales for passengers to ride on takes you down through the first quarter mile. Here is where roaming monsters jump out of the woods and frighten the riders.

When you get to the picnic station they drop you off right there in the middle of the woods. You get off the hay ride and walk a half mile around the fitness trail. Each of the stations normally used for a fitness activity are now decorated for halloween by various organizations, groups and whoever wanted to pitch in.

Once you make it back to the picnic station a hay ride is there to take you back up the hill.

At the top of the hill is a big field where you can hang out, check in and wait for the next hay ride. Myself and other volunteers set up bounce houses, haunted maze, spooky cabin, local DJ and much more. Fun for everyone.

I only ask for a $2 donation, plus one can food item. This year we had 510+ visitors, 50 volunteers, raised $881 and filled my car to capacity with food. The money raised will go to my next event which is Christmas. The food goes to stock Saint Francis Community Care center’s food pantry.

If you would like to help support future community events, donations to Sawyer Community Enrichment nonprofit is always in need. We rely on grants some, but majority of funding comes from the community donations and my personal investment.
