We left PA Saturday evening around 5pm. We made it to GA around 7:30am. Was an uneventful drive.

We went straight to the Amicolola State Park Visitors Center first. It opens at 8:30am so we napped sort of while we waited for it. Here are some pictures of the place.

He starts his hike Tuesday and I start mine Monday. He wants to avoid Monday`s  expected thunderstorms.

We also ran into these awesome people who left today (Sunday). We gave them a ride to the trailhead parking lot.

Next Addie and the dogs and I hiked from the parking lot to the starting point of the trail one 1 mile south of the lot then hiked back for a total of 2 miles. Monday I will start from this parking lot and head north to Katahdin ME ! ! !

So far so good. Addie will drive home after dropping me off.
