Possums are the only marsupials native to North America. Very long genetic history, I feed a very large possum in the neighborhood my leftovers. Very innocuous animal.. Not considered a rabies threat in my state. They actually make good pets. Cool pictures Doc, enjoying your updates, hope you are enjoying your hike!

They are very cute animals. I’m having a great time. Just over 300 miles now. Will be in Erwin TN tomorrow.
