Every year mid March I host an event where we get a bunch of kids from the neighborhood together. We give them a bunch of instruments and we march around the neighborhood making as much noise as possible and stomping on the snow to drive it away for spring. The noise is crucial because around here winter is generally a quiet time of year. Cold, white, crisp, and silent. All the sounds of nature seem to go to slumber so the noise is kind of like natures alarm clock. We bash drums and whistle flutes and ring bells driving away the snow.

What a wonderful idea! I might suggest this to our village in the Pyrenees! Unfortunately spring was already here with 20degrees C yesterday but snow still forecast next week!!!
I love the way you an Adie have entirely integrated yourselves into your new village life.

We have a good neighborhood and have fun. If only everyone did this stuff. Imagine governments doing this instead of wars.
