For the last few years I’ve been organizing a neighborhood wide Easter event. Last year it went county wide and ended up with around 450 people or so. About 250 kids. This year I am prepping for 400. I collect donations for the event such as Easter baskets, toys, candy, food and more. I always make my events free for everyone to enjoy. Even the raffles are free, every kid gets a raffle ticket for showing up. The goal is to ensure every kid gets an Easter basket and a chance to win a raffle prize. I also have a little kids and big kids Easter egg hunt. Usually there are anywhere from 1000-2000 eggs to find. This year we have around 4,500 eggs. Some stuffed with toys and others with money and of course tons with candy.

Without donors my events cannot happen. Everything is provided by local community members. So far I’ve been able to have some sort of free event every 1-2 months. This years 4th Annual Easter Extravaganza is made possible by the Koponen family, C’N’E Cupcakes & Tutus, Shannon’s Home Cooking, & Sandy Davis for acquiring and donating what we have so far. Also the Gwinn Lions Club has ordered some Easter goodies, as well as, a few other great people. The K.I. Sawyer Air Museum has offered to host the event this year in their building.

We currently have 7 raffle prizes. I’m told more will be donated in time for the event too.

33 individual serving size chocolate eggs candy

$220 cash

The goal is to have enough for 400 Easter baskets. I intend to do a build your own Easter basket. Tables will be set up and items placed with a volunteer at each table for the kids to select what they want in their baskets. Anything you would find/want in an Easter basket would be a good donation if you would like to assist.

The 4th Annual Sawyer Easter Extravaganza will be Saturday April 16th 2022 at the K.I. Sawyer Air Museum. Event starts at 2pm est. time to around 5 or 6pm.

Friday April 15th 2022 we will meet at (time and place to be announced) to stuff eggs and prep them to be hidden Saturday morning.
