Still chipping away with the backlog of updates and Egg-A-Days to post.  Here we go, starting with May 6.

Hey, guess what?  Now it’s Lacey AND Pixie who have decided they should be sitting on … ‘eggs’… and also that I need to put them away at night.  So I get to carry Lacey through the yard every night (telling Kyle she is NOT interesting at all)… and I get to do it when I’m sleepy. On the 6th, Lacey did have an egg under her, but I went back later to get it.

On the 7nth,  I decided to snag the egg from under Lacey if I could.  This time, there wasn’t one… although that piece of PVC was tucked nice and snug underneath her.  I’m not sure what would hatch from a hen on a PVC… some sort of tubular chicken?

I added sawdust back to the plastic official purchased nest boxes, and the gals eventually noticed, and started using them again.  And Lacey was back on her precious PVC piece, and no egg.

May 9th saw Lacey in her barrel, again with no egg and one PVC.  And since it’s currently 12:33 in the ante-meridian,  I think I will cut off this belated Egg-A-Day update!  Thanks for visiting!
